The pow wow over the application for additional Marlboro Inn (a.k.a. Hempstead) variances never happened last night. Time ran out and the Planning Board had to table the agenda item. Developers Plofker and Waksal were in attendance, so we're guessing they'll reappear at the next meeting scheduled for November 21, when the proposed variances are slated to be discussed.

Anybody else get caught in the traffic mess on Watchung Avenue this morning? Grove Street was closed again in front of the construction site.
What gets my shorts in a twist is NOT that they have to block the street. That's just the reality of construction work. But that after sending you down Prescott, they don't have someone directing traffic for the cars helplessly trying to merge onto Ridgewood Avenue during rush hour traffic.
They could have paid a rentacop for two hours and looked classy. Instead they look selfish and cheep.
I have no problem with a little inconvenience due to a detour. Being made to spend 11 minutes by my dashboard clock waiting to go ONE block pushes my buttons. It's not being inconvenienced. It's the arrogance that gets me.
However you slice it, the little detour played havoc with traffic this morning.
Yesterday's traffic was a problem for me as I live on Ridgewood ave had to back out into traffic - a traffiic cop would have been helpful but I guess Steve is not interested in helping the Glen Ridge community.
Anyone who knows anyone that has dealt with 'so sue me' Steve knows Steve doesn't care about helping ANYone but Steve. It's shocking to me that anyone would do business with the man or buy property from him. And he continuously makes our planning board look like a bunch of yes men (and women).
New License plate motto...."NJ, one big friggin' detour".
Steven plofker is the reason montclair is so hot. Enough said.
