Run, don't walk for grilled halloumi -- it is fabulous! It is a Cypriot cheese that does not melt -- it gets grill marks and has a great salty flavor. I'm already salivating...
If you haven't tried barrumundi, it's a delicious fish from Australia (now bred here in the US). Buttery taste and delicate texture...yummy!
Run or walk; you still aren't ever going to get a parking space...:) But we should dispatch our ace photgrapher Scott to cover this: I can see the headline now: "Foodies Food Fight and Feeding Frenzy."
If you don't make it today, pick up some halloumi next time you're there. Slice it lengthwise, throw it on the grill and grill both sides. Put it on a platter, squeeze lemon over it and watch it disappear. My sister lives in Cyprus and we actually have land there. People use the land to let animals graze and they pay us "rent" in halloumi cheese.
How much CO2 is released in the atmosphere in grilling vs. baking in an oven?
Where is our Environmental Outreach Coordinator when you need him?
RoC: If it is hot air you are worried about in the atmosphere, perhaps you could ... ah, never mind...

PUT A SOCK IN IT!

I don't know (rolling eyes). Why don't you report back to us with a comparison of the CO2 emissions of a charcoal grill vs. energy factory emissions required to generate electricity (for an electric oven) or environmental impact of natural gas acquisition (for a gas oven)?
Well, Jim, if you throw down the gauntlet like that:
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m1525/is_n4_v77/ai_12449665
It stands to reason that burning coals in an open tub for 45 minutes vs. the generation of enough electricity to power a much more efficient oven is likely to generate much less pollution.
Doesn't Whole Foods care about the environment?
Don't you Jim?
ROC,
montclair's environmental coordinator is just a phone call away- dial the main town number and ask for Gray Davis.
it's not hard, but you will have to lift a finger from the keyboard.
ROC: Your article URL does not work.
jim,
ROC doesn't either!
"jim,
ROC doesn't either!"
Funniest thing I've read in a month. LMFAO!
The link works for me today, but yesterday it was slow. Try again.
Since we're on the subject, I saw "An Incovenient Truth" last night, featuring Al Gore and his presentation on Global Warming.
I'd recommend it.
