Oh, The Fireworks You'll See

Monday, July 3, 2006

We hear that this year's fireworks display in Montclair promises to be the best fireworks in the town -- EVER. It's not braggadocio. Turns out moving the display to Mountainside Park as opposed to Woodman field allows for some bigger bangs and booms. For everything you ever wanted to know about Montclair's festivities, including the parade, picnic and addition of a Fireworks Express train (yes Virginia, the train will run on a holiday, just for us), go here.

Montclair's not the only town with fire power.

From the Star Ledger...

Bloomfield A holiday celebration will be held tomor row at Foley Field on JFK Boulevard. Gates open at 5 p.m.; opening ceremonies begin at 6:30 p.m., followed by kids' activities, food and live music. Fireworks will blast off at about 9 p.m. in Memorial Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for viewing from the football field. Rain date is Wednesday

West Orange
The 72nd William Lefty Boland Fun Meet will start in Colgate Park at 10 a.m. to morrow. Added attractions include an adult and teen balloon toss, an antique car show and an eating contest for adults. An old-fashioned variety show will start at 7 p.m. in Degnan Park. Fireworks begin at dusk. The recommended viewing site is the Degnan Park softball field.

Et tu, Glen Ridge?

So where is the best vantage point for the parade to see the most "performances"? We usually sit at the corner of Blfd Ave and Park but I love to see it when the stop and actually perform. Any ideas? Also, does anyone know when/if the Brookdale Park fireworks will be since they were rained out on Friday?

"They'll be fireworks."

What did the English language ever do to you Ms. George, to deserve such maltreatment?

Wouldn't you like to know...

I'm staying for the parade (there's a parade right?) but I'm leaving to go down to my hometown for fireworks. For 2 hours straight you can watch all the other towns across the water have their fireworks. It's amazing.

Anyone know where there will be fireworks tonight?

In my bed but you're not invited!

Clark has them tonight......from their high school field. Yhat's Union County.

only the privileged in GR see fireworks privately at the GR country club party
