Baristaville Java Map

Friday, August 4, 2006

Ever wonder where all the options are for local joe? And which places offer free wifi along with a jolt of caffeine? If so you're in luck. The clever folks at Faneuil Media have brewed us up a Baristaville Java Map. Enjoy!

Are the wayfinding signs being put up in Montclair going to be this sophisticated?

Posted by Anonymous | August 4, 2006 11:03 PM

What about Cafe Ecletic- Free Wireless Internet.

Paid Wireless Internet is the same thing as NO wireless iternet in my book.

It's on there, Bitpusher.

Barista - Any thoughts on using the mapping approach when you do a restaurant review or news story? Even after 9 years here, I don't know many of the streets / areas you reference. Just a suggestion.

I look forward to the public restrooms map next.

I hope that the wayfinding consultants remember to include directions to Montclair's many fine public restrooms in their scheme for telling people where to go in town.

The face heard that Glen Ridge may be getting a Starbucks soon.

Get ready for those $35 lattes'.

The question is, will this work on my BlackBerry?

Posted by walleroo | August 5, 2006 12:40 PM

It doesn't even work on my laptop. Why would it work on anyone's BlackBerry?

Posted by crank | August 5, 2006 12:59 PM

Where would the Glen Ridge Starbucks be??? There is barely any retail space in that town.

Good point, crank. I suppose we'll have to postpone the revolution yet again.

"It doesn't even work on my laptop. Why would it work on anyone's BlackBerry?"

Try it on a mainframe.

Posted by walleroo | August 5, 2006 1:12 PM

OK I put my laptop on top of the mainframe but the map still doesn't work.

Other ideas?

I don't think GR does chains. Lived here my whole life, and the only one I can remember is Arthur Treaturs(sp) Fish N' Chips. Wouldn't mind seeing that one again.

If there was some way we could harness all those machines Google has. Or maybe try one of those Internet spare-cycle computing thingies, like they do when crunching simulations of the birth of the universe or the volume of empty space in Dubya's head.

Maybe the Mayor of Glen Ridge would comment about the Starbuck's "rumor"

Carl.........

if people are interested in finding local coffeeshops that are NOT starbucks, the delocator is a great resource. http://www.delocator.net also works for finding local non-corporate bookstores and movie theaters.

Another good one missing is The Goat Cafe: 21 South Orange Ave. 07079; Free wireless last time I checked. 973-275-9000. I like delocater.net too.

The cafe at Barnes & Noble isn't actually a Starbucks. Barnes & Noble Cafes sell some Starbucks products, but if you go in there and try to use your Starbucks gift card you'll be disappointed.
