Whole Foods Cuts The Cheese

Friday, September 22, 2006

cheese.gifToday, from 5 to 7pm, Whole Foods Market in Montclair is staging a British Cheese Festival, featuring pungent and delicious delicacies from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales.

The menu includes British teas, scones with clotted cream, an assortment of cheeses, and fish 'n' chips (don't forget the malt vinegar). Scottish meat pies will be served byimages.jpg
Montclair's own purveyor of British goodies, The London Food Company. And the Friends of Barnet - Montclair's sister city in England - are standing by to provide information about their cultural exchange program.

I'll see your double gloucester, and raise you "with chives."

CLOTTED CREAM?? Why oh why did they hold this on Rosh Hashana. Please save me some!

Which is called "Cotswold". I know, because I just returned from WFM, and they had some for sampling. Yummy!

Oh, and by the way, the clotted cream was wonderful with the scones! They sell both in the store, by the way.

Forget Wholefoods and other novelties:
Kerry Gold...available in Supermarkets (some only near St. Paddy, but Clifton S&S...always avail).
If you are into dairy...you must already know.

the cheese staff at Whole Foods is very helpful. Sorry I missed the event. Sounds yummy.

Yes, sorry i missed this event and all the events on baristanet because i receive the email a day too late. I just got this one-saturday 9/23/06 at 5:30 am...hope you all enjoyed cutting the cheese!
Today is irrelevant it seems on Baristanet.

Hey Nancy -- I have a tip for you -- How about logging into the baristanet on a daily basis -- and not waiting for the email blast?

Common...how common! : )

i do do that now when i remember, unfortunately i usually forget whenever there's a neat event, esp. at whole foods. i considered calling whole foods at the beginning of the month and asking them what events were taking place.

is the mailing list so large that they can't hit send earlier in the day so we all could receive it on time. not a big deal - i shouldn't be eating or cutting the cheese anyway.

i merely hoped if i complained enough they'd move my address closer to the front, wouldn't that be common sense? (esp. since i often send those links to friends who are now regular baristanet readers?)

i guess that idea is not gouda for them?

listening big sister? : )
