Montclair's bad boy of football, Giants defensive end Michael Strahan, mouthed off during a radio interview Monday on WFAN, criticizing team mate Plaxico Buress for "quittin on us". Yesterday, he shot his mouth off again, getting into a tirade at ESPN reporter Kelly Naqi and fellow press members for reporting on his apparent feud with the wide receiver. From The Star Ledger:
"Come here, I want to see your face when you ask this question, the way you are going to ask it," Strahan, the final bite of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich in his hand, barked at Kelly Naqi. "I know you are going to ask it in a way there is more division and more of a negative way than it was, so come here. I want to see your face, please."Naqi pushed her way to the front of the media pack and asked again: Had Strahan spoken to Plaxico Burress since he used the word "quit" four times to describe the receiver's lackadaisical play on an Eli Manning interception, one of the turning points in the Giants' 24-21 meltdown in Tennessee?
"I haven't spoken to YOU about them. I've spoken to Plaxico," he said, even though he later confirmed he hadn't. Strahan was rolling, behaving like a bully who already had the milk money but was moving in for the wedgie.
Strahan spent most of this three-minute lecture telling the media how to do their jobs, which is the ironic part of this episode, of course. Strahan conveniently forgets that he is part of the media this time, paid by WFAN to provide analysis on a weekly basis.
Remember to hide your press credentials if you're stuck with Strahan in a long line at Whole Foods. And don't even think about touching his peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

It was not 'mouthing off' as you state. The ESPN reporter pulled a bush league move that has become typical of ESPN. They try to create a stir from what was a benign comment two days prior. There are about 50 Giant beat reporters and NONE thought the comment was worth asking Burress for his reaction. Also, it was not a breaking news story as it was plastered in the New York Post that morning.
Let it be clear that I am not defending Strahan talking with his mouth full, but Ms. Naqi was out of line herself.
The mystery turkey is back
Is he living in Montclair- I don't think so

now we know how his ex-wife felt.
I wish we still had a linebacker playing to smoked crack. Those were the days...
i am very jealous that tennessee has vince young and we have eli manning.
f**k all y'all. You're just jealous of a successful black man.
tiki and strahan are punks. they both want to into broadcasting but their skin is thinner than my 90 old grandmother's. It's all about them and they can't take the heat. Selfish millionaires who expect everyone to kiss their asses.
I wonder if he was thinking of Ian Smith as he stuffed the hot dog in his face.
Kelly Naqi did nothing wrong. Strahan made those comments about Burress on his own radio show and she approached Plaxico about them which is the repsonsible thing to do. Should everyone just ignored it? And Strahan got busted throwing his teammate under the bus in public and instead of telling Plaxico about it, waited for a reporter to have to question it. Its not her fault, Strahan should stuffed more dogs in his gap toothed mouth rather than talking.
I used to have the Strahan gap, and my dentist did a $400 veneer that fixed it. Do you think he'll have that kind of money after the divorce?
Remember his alternate lif style. He maybe getting enough "hot dog" at home now.
I wouldn't count the Giant's out, there's a lot of seasoned talent on the team. There's not many football players that last more than three years in the NFL. Again I posted this early in the season, I think if there were more pass plays for Shockey, it would ease up the burden on Tiki. Shockey is extremely difficult to bring down in one on one coverage. The Giant's coaching staff have significantly cut down on plays this year utilizing Shockey has a receiver, as a result, the Giants have become less dimentional in their set of offensive attack compaired to last year. If you look at a lot of the Giant's wins last year, Shockey came up with many big 3rd down conversions and turned the game around for the Giants on many occassions. It's the biggest single factor I've noticed about the Giants this year.
fuck all y'all
Just for the record, Kelly Naqi of BSPN had an agenda to stir up a situation that was much ado.
On Wednesday she showed up at Giants Stadium and directly went to MS. Strahan does not usually do interviews, except only on Thurs. Strahan refused the interview and she then went directly into the cafeteria.
Naqi, then, went directly to seek out Plax. Although Plax did talk to MS previously, he told the "new" reporter that he wasn't aware of Stray's comments. She addressed the interview out of context. Plax then went into the cafeteria and that's when MS returned out into the locker room.
The PR dept. did have something written up for MS (because there had been a sense of trouble with a large contingent of media personnel for that day). Strahan, being himself, went on to address the situation in his own way.
Whether he handled the situation right or wrongly, MS is like it or not one of the leaders of that locker room. People may be surprised after these past few weeks of what kind of team the Giants are after being poorly portrayed by "some" media outlets.
crrection to the above....** Strahan went into the cafeteria** Not.."She"
correction to the above....** Strahan went into the cafeteria** Not.."She"
Strahan should be gentlemanly enough to be able to handle a reporter, even if she was being provocative. He's not exactly a class act off the field.
Wasn't that the reaction she wanted. For crying out loud. Most locker room reporting is really not journalism. You can throw out 90% of the canned responses as meaningless. Perhaps that is what we want in our athletes - platitudes without attitudes.
Frankly, he said the right thing about Plaxico. The reason Strahan is the leader of the Giants is that he has played hard to play well. How offensive is it to all you business folks when the person next to to you works at half your effort and gets paid the same?
The Giants are clearly a team in need of leadership training. Strahan should have said what he said both about Plax and to the reporter but he should have said it better.
quittin on us". Y
jacobs better than tiki?? i think so
