Claire,
There are LOTS of open storefronts throughout Montclair. They may not be in a prime Church St location, but if you really want to stay open, there are many, many options avaialble.
Look east of Seymour Street. Look at the corner of Willow and Glen Ridge Ave. Look up and down the Ave.
Copabananas rules and you should stay in town.
Good luck.
Clair,
Thanks for serving the community so well. We’ll really miss your fantastic cards, gifts, and novelties. Wish there was something we could do to keep wonderful small business owners like you in Montclair. You’re a very big reason why the town has prospered so well. I’ll think of you whenever I have to run downtown to buy someone a gift, and am forced to choose between a $300 collander and $350 pair of jeans (size 4).
Hmm…I suppose that’s one of the telltale signs of the gentrification apocolypse – when there is no longer any place to buy a rubber chicken in town!
Bastards.
Good Luck Clair..you were One of a kind.

Thanks Clair for all the fun! Yours was my favorite store in Montclair.
Damn ! Where else could you find plastic Jesus Action figures ?
When my kid wanted a rubber chicken I didn’t even have to think twice about it – I just said “okay Copabananas it is”
You will be missed!!!

I just checked my rubber chicken and it’s starting to dryrot. I guess I’ll have to head out to Spencer gifts next month.
I hear she has a web site where rubber chickens can be found.

The shuttering of a font of whimsy lessens us all.
Copabananas has an eBay store, so you can keep getting cool stuff!
Hallelujah for eBay! Best wishes for e-sales, Claire.
