Colbert's Official Scoop

Wednesday, February 14, 2007

colbertcream.jpgThere's no stopping Stephen Colbert. First, his very own word in Wikipedia, now, he rates top honors alongside Jerry Garcia...but not for rock 'n roll, for ice cream.Ben & Jerry's has got a new flavor named after the comedian. "Stephen Colbert's Americone Dream," is vanilla ice cream with fudge-covered waffleColber%3Ascoop.jpg cone pieces and caramel. (Hmmm, does that sound yummy?) Ben & Jerry's call it "The sweet taste of liberty in your mouth." Newsday.com gives us the scoop:

"I'm not afraid to say it. Dessert has a well-known liberal agenda," Colbert said in a statement. "What I hope to do with this ice cream is bring some balance back to the freezer case."

How long will it take to stock Baristaville's markets with the new taste treat? Let us know when there's a celebrity ice cream sighting.

And to be fair, B&J should think about coming out with a new flavor named after Bill O'Reilly. Wonder what that would taste like? Talk about your favorite ice cream or any other toppings for the day...

pfffft

What a surprise, it's has a liberal agenda and it contains pieces of waffle..

I know what my new fav ice cream is.

I'm hoping for a whole line of Colbert themed ben & jerry's

My opinion of Ben and Jerry's just went down hill.

O'Reilly's ice cream wouldn't taste of anything. It would be 100% hot air...

he's lame

Did you know that per capita, new englanders eat more ice cream than people in any other part of the country--and much of that is eaten when it's snowing!

Now if I couldn only get my car out!

A Colbert Dess-aire is good idea. But the day that Ben & Jerry's names an ice cream after Bill O'Reilly is the day they can safely store the product on the left bank of the River Styx. (Where, actually, it might belong...)

I can think of a lot more deserving people than Stephen Colbert to have an ice cream flavor named after them.

Puleeeeeze!

it's wikipedia btw

Also coming soon:

Ted Kennedy's Chappaquiddick Swirl - has a little toy car at the bottom

Al Franken's Air America Crunch discontinued due to lack of public interest

Al Gore's Baked Alaska comes pre-melted as a reminder to consumers about the dangers of global warming

Is that spelling of Wikipedia meant to be funny?

This story was "DUG" a week ago - old news. Sheese.

Yes the spelling was mean to be funny! Dont you get it? Wickipedia?

I just pissed in my pants. That was some hilarious stuff!!!!!! Wickipedia, phew!!!

The best store bought ice cream ever: Turkey Hill Chocolate ice cream with peanut butter swirled in. SO GOOD!

Actually Edy's has had a similar one for some time now.

A number of years ago I asked Ben & Jerry to make a flavor in honor of my father's 88th birthday. I wanted his favorite flavor, chocolate ice cream, to be packaged as "Dr. ChocoLarry". The company was private then...they couldn't make a flavor and package it for me but all of the employees signed a birthday postcard and sent it with a pint cozy and gift certificates to my dad. We bought him stock in the company instead.

"And to be fair, B&J should think about coming out with a new flavor named after Bill O'Reilly. Wonder what that would taste like?"

Feet.

We need more Jerry Garcia on this site!

Grateful Dead received Grammy for "Lifetime Achievement Award"!

Jerry stayed at the Marlboro.

"If you get confused...listen to the music play..."

He's as insignificant as those 2 blowhard ice cream clowns...puleeze, nobody cares about Ben and Jerry and even less care about this Col-bert dweeb.

Yes but we are all care about Jerry

I like their frozen yogurt, esp. Cherry Garcia.

"He's as insignificant as those 2 blowhard ice cream clowns...puleeze, nobody cares about Ben and Jerry and even less care about this Col-bert dweeb."

Nobody cares about Colbert? Seriously? I'm pretty sure more people care about him than care about you - not your internet handle, but you in real life. He's got one of the most popular tv shows right now, you're on a community message board.

Seriously, weigh the two.

Whose hose did Jerry visit is a better trivia question.

Hint-Bellevue Ave and we watched Sat Night Live

this flavor is better than the ill-advised Black & Tan offering

Are tickets for Rat Dog at the Beacon really starting at around 100 dollars?

Bobby, I love you, but you're killing me, come back to the PAC!!!!

I do miss the Dead...ALOT...these days.

Maybe its the winter, or maybe its just those sick 1977/78 Dancin' in the Streets that are gitting me all crazy in the head?

Kesey said it best:

Nothing Lasts

And...I used to live in SF in 2000-2002 and they had a bar that had GD night where heads would show up and a DJ would just play random GD tunes and people would get down. It was real good for the heart!

Would that work here in NJ? Where could it be done?

Any GD friendly bars in Essex Co.?

Mexicali in Teaneck

Caught Bromberg at Joes in the village last night going back Thurs to see Raul Malo

If an ice cream flavor were ever to be created in honor of George W. Bush, it would taste exactly like cocaine.

George and Dick's WMD Ice Cream Surprise - No matter how hard you look, once you get to the bottom, nothing's there.

George and Dick's "You're Doing a Heckuva Job (Fudge) Brownie Ripple"

Open up the lid, spill out the entire contents, ignore it for five days, and one year later it's still a hard sorry mess to clean up.

Bromberg played Outpost in the burbs in 2006. It was wonderful.

Also saw him in Red Bank several months earlier. A bit of a trip but the show was really good.

The Basie is a nice house

Montclair Public Schools have a 2-hour delayed opening this morning

Häagen-Dazs has a flavor similar to this, it's called carmel cone and it's my favorite

The Grateful Dead? I vaguely remember them. They did a disco song in the late seventies that i rather liked, it was called "Shakedown Boulevard," or "Shakedown Road," or something like that. Oh, yes, it's coming back to me now. i went to see them right around the time that song came out, since i liked it. Butit turned out they were pretty lame. They didn't even play the song i came to hear! Instead they just noodled around for like four hours. Bloodle-y doodly-doodle. There was some really unhealthy-looking old guy with a beard attempting to sing every now and then. he sweat a lot, and his glasses were sliding down his nose. It was pretty sad, really. And I think some of the other people in the audience may have been on drugs.

Shouldn't it be "he sweated a lot?"

Shakedown Street. I don't know if I'd call it disco but it was a different style than most of their songs.

What's the link for this Wiccapedia that you speak of?

"Bloodle-y doodly-doodle," me all night long....

Lets play name that dead song

"since the first of February"

"Whose house did Jerry visit is a better trivia question."

Would that be John Scher?

"since the first of February"

Cosmic Charlie

Jerryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

ah yes, you've jogged my memory. The sweaty guy w/ the beard and glasses who tried to sing was called Jerry. Jerry Ramirez, I think, or was it some other common Spanish surname?

"No one is complaining though, come in and shut the door."

"ah yes, you've jogged my memory. The sweaty guy w/ the beard and glasses who tried to sing was called Jerry. Jerry Ramirez, I think, or was it some other common Spanish surname?"

That's funny because, when I was a Freshman at Rutgers (1978), I saw an advertisement for the Jerry Garcia Band playing at the "Barn". I thought it was a Salsa group or something. Later on I became a big fan.

Sugaree??
