Making headlines again is Maplewood. Not for unruly kids trashing their library, but this time, it's a three-year-old bear. From the New York Post...
"I went out back, and the bear was way up there, wedged in. He seemed very happy up there. This is the first time I've ever seen a bear in Maplewood."Cops eventually called Kelcey Burgess of the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife, who shot the bear. It fell into a net set up about eight feet off the ground.
Burgess said the bear, which was about 41/2 feet long, probably came from the nearby South Mountain Reservation.
He said it was unusual for a bear to do so much walking around in the wintertime.
Burgess will take it back to state land.
John Hall, 32, a local jogger, stopped to watch the bear show.
"Before this, the only bear I ever saw around here were the minor-league team, the Newark Bears," said Hall.
The bear is also poised to become a viral video star.

Please note that the bear was shot with a tranquilizer dart.
He wasn't just "shot" as the post seems to say.
