HGTV Bought & Sold: Back To Landmore

Sunday, June 24, 2007

Does Roberta Baldwin sell a house in Llewellyn Park in record time (and what exactly is the record, are folks walking around with stopwatches, are medals awarded?) Do Joanna and Jodi of the Short Hills office drop the price (horrors!) on a house they're trying to sell? Will Roberta drop her price, too?

These and other questions get answered tonight at 10, on Bought & Sold. We also get to see Sam Joseph again, who happily seems to be having way much more fun than most of the other realtors on the show. In fact, Joseph may be ready for his own reality show spin-off. We get to see Joseph throw a party for his biggest listing yet -- the Landmore estate.

Sam Joseph is a lot of fun to watch, but Roberta has comedic talent as well. She handled the consequences of locking both her and her client's keys in her car with grace and humor.

I would not have paid $399K for that builder's home on a busy street in West Orange. What are these people thinking? Do we know if, and what it sold for?

You know, when the market was HOT, all these places looked great. But now, things have slowed down and they are looking just like they did back in 2000--undesirable!

I looked at homes in Llewellyn Park back in 1995, and there is now way that I could have sunk over $1M in West Orange (at that time they were as low as $650K). Anything "Orange" just does not sit well with me! I remember living in NYC and the last place on earth you would want to live is in a town with "Orange" attached to--East Orange, West Orange, Orange, and South Orange. However, I think they all have some nice homes, but what would the friends and business associates think if they had to travel to an "Orange?" Now, that is something to think about!

i guess you'll have to think about it on your way to the bottle king

(how did you forget to put that in your post?)

Sammy...well he's the kind of guy I want selling my house! He's pretty hot and just so out there! Now, Roberta, she is the ultimate Realtor who is probably more successful than all of them put together!

When does this show end? I think it is great that they are actually showing the agony of the "price reduction" and the reality of the current market. If it last through the summer, well see some real drama as home prices are slashed and foreclosures start to pop-up like weeds in a West Orange lawn.

Shitalker...i guess you'll have to think about it on your way to the bottle king

Shitalker...love that name! Well, I did load up yesterday at Bottle King. Took the neighbors son (not sure if he is of age, but he's a hotty)to do the heavy lifting, so I well stocked until Tuesday afternoon.

Can anyone tell me why the woman in the "fat lady sings" snippet is in the show? She teaches at a school that I was subbing at and I was astonished to see her in that bit of the segment!

Agent Roberta Baldwin... sets her sights to (sic) selling Suzy's house in record time... [and] finds herself needing to reduce the listing price.

And that insight warrants paying 6 percent of the gross?

Roberta Baldwin and Tamima Friedman are the very best, nicest, most honest agents ever in the history of the world.

The question is whether or not their broker, who does very little in the process, is entitled to half of what the Sales agent brings in to the office? These people are independent workers--1099's-- and the Sales agents put money out of their pocket to sell your POS (piece of shit)!

Love Roberta, but hate that this "post" is another shill for a Baristanet sponsor.....

This happens far too much here.

So much for journalistic cred.
