Banner week for arrests in Montclair. From the MPD police blotter...
Burglary Arrest: With the assistance of the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office, Montclair Detectives charged Trent Janulis, 32, of Secaucus, and Brian Tice, 26, also of Secaucus, with the Burglary and Theft from Grove Liquors that occurred on June 7th. The charges were filed on July 13th. Both parties are being housed in the Sussex County Jail. Bail has been set at $100,000 dollars.
Burglary Arrest: With the assistance of the video, Montclair officers were able to identify the suspect as Larry Cousins, 48, a Newark resident with ties to Montclair. The incident occurred at Egan's Pub located on Walnut Street on the 13th at approximately 5:25 a.m. Cousins entered the outer storage area of the building and took a floor buffer, two cases of soda and a handcart. In the early afternoon hours, Detectives observed Cousins riding a blue bike in the area of Elmwood Ave and arrested him. Cousins was charged with Burglary and Theft. Bail was set at 25,000 bond or 2,500 cash.Burglary Arrest: On the 13th, shortly after 8 p.m., Montclair police were dispatched to Saint Vincent's Nursing Home on the report of people inside the building. The nursing home has been closed for a few years, and is enclosed by fencing. Officers observed a male subject leaving the building through a window. The subject was detained and identified as Dennis Couram, 51, of Montclair. Couram had gloves, pliers and a screwdriver in his possession. He was arrested and charged with burglary and possession of burglar tools and also had a no bail warrant from the Essex County Sheriffs Department. Bail for the Montclair charges was set at 1,500 cash.
Arrest: Montclair detectives arrested Carnell Bryson, 37, of Irvington, at his residence in the evening hours of the 13th. Bryson was arrested in connection with the theft of a pocket book from a vehicle at the South Fullerton Lot. Bryson was charged with burglary (because he entered a motor vehicle), theft, and eluding. Bail was set at 10,000 bond or 1,500 cash.
