Bada Bing: Auction of Satin Dolls' "Poles"

Monday, August 20, 2007

Could your home use a pole? This guy's got one in his living room, but now the ones from Satin Dolls (a.k.a the "Bada Bing") are for sale. From Newsday...

Now that the HBO mafia drama is over, the owners of the real-life club, Satin Dolls, say they will auction off the 12-foot stripper poles and other ``Sopranos'' relics on eBay later this week.

Susie Quigley, who runs special events at the 19-year-old north Jersey club, which can be renovated now that the series has concluded, wouldn't guess how much the poles could fetch from ``Sopranos'' fans.

``It seems to me the show the show has a cult following,'' said Quigley, a former dancer who appeared as an extra last season during an episode filmed at the Borgata hotel and casino in Atlantic City. ``The poles have been featured in almost every single episode. I can't begin to say.''

Can the town buy them and plant them?

How much? Or did we get the notice but the town "pole" expert was ill.

Damn, they would look great on the county roads (because they don't take care of their poles, right Hartnett.)

We got the notice months ago. It was brought up at several Town Council meetings.

The problem was that the Bing had the old pole experts address (he's long since dead)and thus the town didn't get the notification that these poles were available.

The new pole expert will not be back for several weeks (it's thought that he hurt his back and had surgery).

Calling the Town manager will get you nowhere since he feels that if Montclair wanted these poles they would have been ordered, so there must be a reson that they haven't been ordered.

Perhaps Montclair can buy them and place them in the middle of So. Mountain for "traffic calming"

Goober: I wouldn't touch your lines with a 12-foot pole. Or two six-foot poles. LOL

not sure if anyone clicked on the link describing Scott Seidenstock’s apartment (stripper pole in living room) but it reminded me of my neighbors house in Glen Ridge on Rudd Ct. They remodeled it, adding a two step walk up to a 3 person jacuzzi in their bedroom.
