If you need a place to take batting practice, play catch, or kick some soccer balls around, and it's cold or rainy outside, take note. There's a new indoor sports facility in Verona, the Fred Hill Sports Academy, where you can rent a "tunnel" or a whole field. Fred Hill Sr. is the longtime baseball coach at Rutgers. His son, Fred Hill Jr. is the basketball coach there. Another son, Jim, is a partner in the venture along with Pete Connell.
The grand opening, this Sunday from 2 to 5 pm, will feature a visit by Yogi Berra. The facility also offers private lessons and birthday parties. See how the "tunnels" open into a full-size field in this video.
