Book Party of the Year

Tuesday, November 13, 2007

Tomorrow night's your chance to rub elbows with the Montclair literati, throw back a Cosmopolitan or three, and put on your best Dorothy Parker imitation. MEWS, or Montclair Editors and Writers, is holding a mega book party Wednesday night at the Diva Lounge to celebrate all the local authors who've had new books out this year. You can also pick up some holiday gifts and have them signed. The party starts at 7. Open to everyone, free admission, cash bar. Here's the list of authors whose books will be on hand. WOW! That's a WHO'S WHO of MEWS!

I heartily recommend de Konninck's REPAIRS ... watch for the line about Home Depot. It's simply perfect.

it's always fun to go to a mews event. my biggest problem is that there are so many people i want to talk to, and there is never enough time.

Now, if only we can get some of these people to stop at a stop sign, or crosswalk!

WHY JUST RUB ELBOWS WHEN YOU CAN SEE AND HEAR THEM READ THEIR OWN PROSE!!

You may want to stop at the:
MONTCLAIR OPERETTA CLUB STUDIO
494 VALLEY ROAD
UPPER MONTCLAIR (adjacent to A&P parking lot) 7:30pm- till

first to hear local writiers read their own poetry & prose.

Especially Martin Golan!!!!

In any case the writers/readers are Denise Rue, David Popiel, Susan Tepper, Martin Golan, Jessica Wolf.

All local and all worth hearing.

This is a benefit for the Montclair Operetta Club musical theatre fundraiser.

I have no idea why it's not on the Barista's calendar but since it's not my event (heard about it on the Watercooler) I can't place it there.

This is a test of the ROC Emergency System. Had this been a real emergency, you probably wouldn't be sitting here reading Baristanet but searching for the nearest exit.
