On the lawn in front of the school, where Tyree played high school football a decade ago, the message board read "Our M.V.P." in a salute to the unlikeliest of heroes in the Giants' victory over the unbeaten New England Patriots. Inside the school, scores of students, teachers and administrators wore blue and white T-shirts paying homage to a player who caught only four passes for 35 yards during the regular season and then somehow caught a desperate 32-yard pass from Eli Manning with just over a minute to go Sunday night.On the shirts were two numbers, Tyree's 85 with the Giants and his 7 with the Montclair Mounties. In between classes, and during them, any number of the school's 2,000 students marveled at how an unsung professional player who was a wide receiver, defensive end and special-teams player at Montclair had become America's newest sports celebrity.
