Saw Atonement at the theater on Belleville last night, WORST THEATER EVER. Our knees were smashed into the back of the chairs in front of us and the screen was pushed all the way back on a stage. Maybe it's the only screen like that in the place, I don't know, but it was the worst place to watch Atonement. My least favorite part came during the scene in the library when the theater next to us blasted that stupid song sung by cartoon frogs, ruined the whole scene! The movie, on the other hand, was beautiful.
I am going to see There will be blood - which I don't understand why it is still playing in select theatres? How is the Claridge Cinema? anyone, anyone?
Katie - My first movie at the theatre I was in last row with my knees drawn in and I'm only 5'2. Felt like I was sitting at a preschool desk/chair combo!
I WISH Atonement was still playing at the Claridge last night, it's a dream compared to Bellevue Theater, which I called by the wrong name in my first comment here. So it's BelleVUE theater that blows, not Belleville. But yeah, Claridge, they have some nice seats in there, waaaay more comfortable.
Yay Juno!
BelleVue is not good and even worse was Cinema 23 in Cedar Grove.
We went to see Michael Clayton there and couldn't move - the seats were awful.
Clairidge is good if you don't get that last theatre on the right where i saw La Vie En Rose and Atonement; only one good middle seat in the whole room!
Atonement was wonderful - sorry to see it just won just one oscar for the score : (
Katie have your read any Ian McEwan?
His books are the best I've read in a long time!
