What next for the battered and beleaguered Bloomfield Board of Ed? Slapped by the state for questionable hiring practices, badgered into approving a second question on the budget ballot, now there's a brouhaha over Gina Verni's resume, alleging she misrepresented her past job experience. Verni, a BOE employee, is Special Services Director for the school district. From Bloomfield Life:
On her resume, Gina Verni, the special services director, stated that she was Canfield Avenue School's special services director from July 2004 to July 2006. However, Verni was only that school's assistant principal and child study team coordinator. The revelation is another black eye for the Bloomfield school district, which in the past several weeks has been busy defending itself against a state audit that blasted school officials for some of its hiring practices and other financial issues.
Frank Digesere, the Bloomfield superintendent, said he is confident in Verni's abilities, and added it is not important to him what title she put on her resume. What is important, he said, is what Verni did while she worked at Canfield Avenue School.Ed Zilinski, president of Bloomfield's BOE, said any misstatements or exaggerations on Verni's resume would concern him. The BOE is working to institute new policies that he believes may prevent future hiring mishaps, he said. Zilinski has previously said he would like the board to see resumes and proofs of certification before the BOE approves future hires.
We're expecting the BOE will issue a statement, and will update this story later today.

"it is not important to him what title she put on her resume."
Actually it is very important! Its' called integrity! And it should be the first thing we are teaching kids!
He should be fired for saying those few words and she should be fired for a creative resume. Thats what would happen in the real world.
