Thrive Montclair, Partnership Montclair and Unity Montclair -- I wonder what name Noel Brogan would have picked for her slate. Alas, we will never know...
From the Star Ledger...
The four-way race for Montclair's mayoral seat just got less crowded.Noel Brogan, who since last week's filing deadline has been jockeying to validate petition signatures for her independent candidacy, said yesterday she is ending her short-lived quest for the mayor's post.
Yesterday, Michaelson, when told of the Brogan withdrawal, said she's encouraged by how her own candidacy is taking shape.
"I'm pleased to be the only woman. I'm pleased to be the one with the most experience, and I'm pleased to have a great team behind me," she said.
There are now 22 candidates -- instead of 23 -- vying for the seven four-year seats on Montclair's council.
To Brogan, the race is losing something with her exit. "Fresh ideas, a very clean-cut plan to cut away the fat," she said.

I think I know the root of the problem with our taxes in Montclair.
One has to be wealthy to be able to afford to run for council as it requires a lot of hours with little compensation. As much as I would love to be able to participate in the process, I can't afford to for I must work like a dog to simply afford to stay here.
So those who run for or get elected to the town council must be pretty well off. This might be why the town council can not say no to any spending requests. It is inhabited by a team of wealthy locals who can not relate to how difficult it is for many of us to be able to afford to live here.
Hence, the new school, the quiet zone, the new sign, the bus gazebos, the artwork in parking garages, the field house, the baseball fields, the belgian block curbs, the authorities, the lousy garbage collection, etc.
