Move over, Tom Cruise. Glen Ridge has a new heartthrob in the big time, as even the readers of the staid Glen Ridge listserv, GRCorner, knew yesterday if they were at their computers:
Saturday Night Live of March 8th will feature musical guests Vampire Weekend Glen Ridge graduate Ezra Koenig
Koenig (right) is the clean-cut, tennis-sweater-wearing, baby-faced lead singer for Vampire Weekend, which has had a meteoric rise. The New York Times described it as "the breakout indie success of the year, [which] updates the clean lines of new wave with touches of African guitar." It reminds me of the Paul Simon of the Ladysmith Black Mambazo "Graceland" era.
