Baristanet and a nearly injured passenger sounded the alarm this week at NJ Transit, when we notified them about a scary train stop at Watchung Avenue Station that took commuters a little too far. NJT spokesperson Dan Stessel responds:
The incident was investigated by our senior railroad managers. It was determined that the train's engineer erroniously pulled two cars off the platform, following a special instruction for a different station. We have taken appropriate action.
In addition, the railroad's general superintendant reached out directly to the customer who took the picture to follow-up, and we had supervisors aboard the train the following night to talk to other Watchung Avenue customers.
A close call, but luckily, no one got hurt. Tipster did the right thing filing a complaint - hopefully this won't happen again.

Interesting comment - because since Tuesday they have been "overshooting" in the morning and at night, so I don't want to hear about erronously overshooting. The conductor stated they had to as direct orders from their superiors because of a local montclair person who made a complaint about falling debris from the tressel bridge.
