On March 9, customers at Fitzgerald's 1928 will hear more than mellow background music while dining. The restaurant is teaming up with the New Jersey Arts Collective and next-door neighbor the Gas Lamp Costume Shop to produce "Food For Thought," a one-night-only mixture of theater, music and fine dining.
I know, I know… the thought of dinner theater makes you cringe. But this sounds kinda cool. Here's what we’re told: Each of the four courses served during the evening will have a "musical course" paired with it (think ragtime and chamber music from the 1920's, same decade in which the restaurant's building was erected). Garth Kravits from Broadway's "Drowsy Chaperone" will perform material scripted by NYC playwright Randall David Cook. The whole package – beer, wine and gratuity included – runs $55.
