Stargazing At Montclair High

It's been hard to miss the caravan of film trucks and crew camped out at Montclair High the past two nights and days, filming a seventies"dramedy""Lymelife," starring Alec Baldwin, Cynthia Nixon, and Tim Hutton. Coming to Montclair after a shoot in Hohokus, Baldwin was rumored to be on the set in the main building Monday night.

Disney starlet Emma Roberts created a buzz among the students on Tuesday. The teen hottie thrilled dozens of kids - many pressing post-it notes on the window and straining to get a glimpse of Emma and crew chilling in the school cafeteria. A few lucky ones got the Emma nod and smile.

BobbyNace.jpg After school, in front of the George Innes Annex, it was quiet on the set as crews prepared to shoot a scene with a vintage Camaro and VW Beetle; later we saw dozens of takes as two brawling teens hit the pavement shouting f-bombs for the camera. On the sidewalk, there was a lot of commotion centered on young actor, Bobby Nace. Surrounded by a gaggle of girls seeking photos and autographs, I had to ask, "is he famous?" They answered "No, but he's hot!'

I remember when they shot scenes for The Devil's Own on Edgemont Road. You should have seen THAT crowd. Then again, Brad Pitt and Harrison Ford trump Emma Roberts (and Bobby Whats-his-Nace) in my book any day.

I heard the house used in "The Devil's Own" got a new roof and a paint job as recompense for the shoot.

What's MHS gonna get?

a-HA, maybe This is why there are emergency no-parking signs stuck on every pole and tree in my neighborhood!

Alec was in town and didn't call me? NOW I'm hurt.

Good question, Mellon. A pile of dough, I hope.

i remember when they used to shoot after schoo specials on the MHS campus. That's going back a little bit.

The average house for a commercial gets about $4,000 - $5,000 a day. That includes interior use. MHS must get a decent fee.

There's a crew shooting at a house on Ridgewood Ave near Baldwin in GR. Anyone know what that is about?

Hey Khan

Remember the back to school special with David Toma?

"We don't need this,
We don't need this
and we don't need any of this"

*Hand gestures indicating drinking, smoking and snorting

I'm ME SAID:

"Alec was in town and didn't call me? NOW I'm hurt."

Do you really want a call from him? Haven't you heard his phone etiquette?
