Slow News Day?

Wednesday, March 26, 2008

Not for nothing, but when Baristanet finds news on NJ.com, 1010 WINS, the New York Times or the Montclair Times, we credit the source and send a link back. Well, looks like a little story we broke yesterday, about Carl Bergmanson trying to boot Governor Corzine from office, has some legs. You can read it here, here, here, and here , but does anybody credit Baristanet? No.

Well, at least the Ledger did add something to the story.

"While the Governor has been working to restore sanity and responsibility to state finances, this guy was working to get Pluto reinstated as an official planet," said Richard McGrath, spokesman for the [New Jersey State Democratic] committee. "Unless he found some solutions to the state's problems by gazing out at distant planets, the real work needs to get done with our feet firmly planted on the ground."

I love the word "recall" in this instance, as if he was some toy with lead paint ot a car with faulty brakes. Has a nice ring to it.

Maybe I'll swing by Carl's table on Saturday. If he can provide Girl Scout 'Thin Mint' cookies, I'll sign anything. The girl scouts at that location were all out of them a couple of weeks ago.
Baristanet should have one of their roving camera crews stop by to record the excitement!

When NJ.com, the Times, The Montclair Times and WINS individually or jointly mention the likes of walleroo, the prof and even laserboy, then, and only then, will it be the proper time to complain to those enterprises that Baristanet deserves credit where credit is due. (And for me to observe that it's clearly a slow news day at any or all of them.)

Did they find the story on Baristanet or in one of Carl's press releases?

Posted by crank | March 26, 2008 8:08 PM

Yeah, crank, Carl mentioned Pluto in his press releases.

No, Carl didn't have time to get his PR machine cranked up yet.

Man, you go out of the country for a bit and look what you come back to!
If Carl had to choose, and could only have one wish come true, would he pick Corzine out or Pluto in?

Uh, Barista, as I recall hubby works for AP, no? Couldn't he have wangled a reference in the AP story at least?

Someone's going to be sleeping in the dog house tonight.
