Beautiful Things We've Overlooked

It's spring. Time for long walks and bike rides around Baristaville. On one such excursion last week, we discovered a set of hand-painted benches at the back of Nishuane Park. Jim Peskin of the Montclair Arts Council did a little digging and discovered they were painted several years ago by students as part of Cities in the Schools summer program administered by Studio Works.

Has spring uncovered some of your favorite local treasures?

No, spring has uncovered no treasures. Though it's baseball/ softball season, yippedee doo dah!

Do the pastel paint colors distinguish this from graffiti?

Yes it is spring and squirrels are digging up my lawn again leaving holes everywhere.

I wish they would open up a squirrel hunt like the dear hunt.

I am only kidding i am not in favor of shooting squirrels so don't get all bent out of shape. I know you liberal baristaville readers value animal life more than humans and helping the homeless (see the deer hunt nonsense posts from a few months back)
