Montclair Environmental Forum 2008, hosted by sponsored by the Interfaith Environmental Coalition (IEC) and BlueWaveNJ could be Baristaville's most animated panel discussion on the environment in recent memory.
Call it the great green debate: candidates from Partnership Montclair, Thrive Montclair, and UnityMontclair will all be showing their shade of green, answering questions about local environmental issues such as recycling, open space preservation, traffic/pedestrian planning, environmental justice, and municipal energy use including green buildings and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
Township Environmental Coordinator Gray Russell will open the forum, describing what's already being done to decrease energy consumption and costs. Keeping the discussion in check are moderators Kevin Fried from IEC and Micahel Yellin from BlueWaveNJ.
Put this one on your weekend calendar, everyone's invited: Sunday, April 6, at Bnai Keshet Synagogue, 99 South Fullerton Ave, Montclair, 3:00-5:00pm.
Expect to hear from mayoral candidate Jerry Fried, with UnityMontclair..."The entire Thrive Montclair group will attend and every Thrive candidate will make a personal statement as well as share their vision for an environmentally progressive Montclair," says Kuae Mattox...Joyce Michaelson & entourage "will definitely be there" and she'll be speaking for her Partnership Montclair slate.
I'm hoping they'll serve green tea...

Actually, THIS is (or was) the most "animated" discussion on the environment.
