CartSign.JPG
Has anyone tried to "borrow" a shopping cart at Lackawanna Plaza lately? Perhaps the management has been been experiencing a mass cart exodus...

must be a slow day. This sign is at least 2 years old.

Obviously, this is a job for the Cart Whisperer .

If ever there were a compelling reason for 90-hour work weeks, "You Tube" might just be the prime candidate...

I think even this site had a post about the guy that Pathmark had to hire to collect errant shopping carts around Montclair. Old nooz.

I wish they would do something similar at the river crossing to lock the wheels of New Yorker's cars so that they can't drive in New Jersey...

More current queries:

What's going on with Montclair Jaguar on the corner of Valley and Bloomfield Avenue? Were they taken over by the Volvo dealer?

When will that goldarn specialty lighting store open up on Bloomfield Avenue?

Did anyone else see the guys walking a picket line at the Verizon building by Lackawanna about a week ago?

I used to collect 'wayward' carts for the old Brookdale A&P in 1969/70. It was a really shitty job, especially in bad weather and being the new kid, they gave it to me.

Sometimes I went as far as Friendlys or Fairway gardens to get a cart.

Uggghhhh..

Spot,

I wondered the same about Montclair Jag. In addition to the missing signage, inside appears to be strictly Volvo.

I didn't see the picketers at THAT particular Verizon, but I did see them at the corner of Bloomfield and the GSP off-ramp.

Prof - just how did you happen to come cross that particular item on YouTube?

Looking to possibly see the "shopping cart invisible fence" in action ?

My boyfriend saw the picketers outside the Verizon building - he didn't know why, though.

When they put those magnetic strips in the Pathmark lot, I was afraid that my cart would be stopped as well. That's not the case though. It IS pretty funny, though, to watch people trying really hard to get the carts past the strip.

The strips prevent people from bringing their carts to the taxi stand. That's convenience fer ya!

MellonBrush..... Also an A&P alumus from the Belleville A&P class of '64-66. Use to challenge myself to see how many carts I could push in a chain. Still have my red apron.
