There Will Be Broadcast

And here's some more of the Montclair's council candidates at the environmental forum.

If you can't get enough (or don't want to watch the forum piecemeal), there's good news. We've just learned that all candidates have agreed to the airing of the forum on Channel 34 in its entirety and town manager Joe Hartnett has advised the station staff to air it. When we have an air time, we'll update.

I like Mr. Fried's points.

Seems like a lot of energy and local gov't time was spent to get this thing on the boob tube. Now dozens of additional people will see it.

Montclair has several hybrid vehicles and should continue on that path, yes there will always be more technology coming but Montclair should not sit on it's hands until electric cars can get you more than 40-50 miles between charges.

"Evaluate the wear and tear see when the vehicle will become basically obsolete then we invest our money in a (energy efficient) car"

We obviously can not overhaul our entire fleet immediately but we could be waiting 10, 20, 50 years before our current vehicles are deemed obsolete.

Hybrids are more than "cool" & "in" they are reducing fuel consumption NOW.

Am I wrong in saying that they misidentified Jerry Fried in the end of that video? C'mon people.

Disprove it.

6:19 am... I see I'm on your mind 1st thing in the morning.

I've already got a Montclair Mommy so pick someone else to follow around the website.

Unless you want a dialogue regarding the topic above I suggest you move it along.

Ms. Castor makes sense to me.
Given the financial state of the town, I don't think that it is prudent to run out and start to replace all of the town vehicles with hybrids. It does, however, make perfect sense to replace the current vehicles with more fuel efficient ones as they wear out. Since some of these vehicles won't need to be replaced for another four or five years, we should look down the road to see what technologies may be available then.

With the exception of Fire Trucks and maybe a few other large specialized vehicles, this should take at most 4- 5 years, not "10, 20, 50 years"

In the link doesn't work just google "Sandy Castor".

Is this the type of person we want to elect?

SoccerMom08 = CampaignManager08 or Candidate08

After reading the site on Sandy Castor, it left me wondering where did she come from. Why did she agree to lend her name to such a blatant attempt to manipulate the Corzine election.A political unknown; a community unknown, I can't help but wonder why she was added to the ticket, and can we expect to see some strange things happen with this election.
