Your Morning Joe

Gigi’s Bay Street Cafe is now even more convenient for Midtown Direct commuters. They’ve set up a cart right inside the Bay Street train station, so you can pick up your morning joe, banana bread, newspapers, or juice right before hopping on the train. Or even pick up a pre-packed sandwich for later. When he’s not acting as a fast-order barista, Joe Truchan hops from his post to help befuddled computers commuters with the daily parking machines, and will yell to the conductors to hold the train.
“That’s our goal,” says owner Gigi DiGennaro. “To make sure nobody misses the train.”
Station hours, which just started this week, are 6 to 10:30 am. The deli around the corner on Glenridge Ave. remains open for more leisurely dining.

All those “befuddled computers” need help. What about the Commuters?

Computers are NEVER befuddled. The programmers are often befuddled.

Love this place. The girls are great. Hands down best home fries on a saturday morning (they season it with a red sauce that I have yet to decipher). I am partial to them, as they are a parking lot away from my home. But I have options, and I choose Gigi’s. Egg Sandwiches are made scrambled, where most places are fried/sunny side up type. Makes a huge difference!

When I was a teenager back in the dark ages I thought the most romantic songs were "Don't Worry, Baby" and "God Only Knows" by the Beach Boys. But my romantic life back then was more in tune with "Love Stinks" by the J. Geils Band.
