Montclair High alumnus Adam Schlesinger has hit the 'creative triple crown': he just received a Tony nomination (with David Javerbaum of Maplewood) for writing the score for John Waters Broadway Show, Cry-Baby. Adam has previously been nominated for an Oscar and a Grammy. Adam and his band, Fountains of Wayne, received a Grammy nomination for "Stacy's Mom" and Adam received an Oscar nomination for Best Song for "That Thing You Do" (the Tom Hanks' pop band movie). Among his other various projects (producing, writing commercials, touring with his bands), Adam wrote the music and lyrics to the Drew Barrymore/Hugh Grant movie, "Music & Lyrics." Adam and his wife live in NYC with their two young children.
