Fancy buffet shelf unit, free for the asking. It's there right now, at 10 Hamilton Road, Glen Ridge. Ring the doorbell to get the glass shelves that go with the unit.

Update 6 pm: It's still there.

Gawd...that is gorgeous! Have to call my fiance to see if he can make it. I don't want to send him on a wild goose chase, tho.

Better get it quick or the rain will ruin it. Maybe the current owners had the sense to put it on the porch.

Posted by MellonBrush | May 20, 2008 3:21 PM

nice they waited for a rainy day to put it outside.

Is that even kosher in Glen Ridge, putting stuff out onto the sidewalk for the vultures to cart away?

Haven't these people ever heard of Craigslist or Freecycle?

Posted by Pork Roll | May 20, 2008 3:43 PM

I see people do this all the time (although usually not in the rain!). Fiance is no where near GR. Drat.

In some towns it's illegal to take things from the curb.

The local Freecycle is at:

Don't bother going to number 10 Hamilton anylonger; I just saw this piece floating past the corner of Lincoln and Elm.

The people must not have loved it verry much if they put it out in this rain.

Posted by Nellie | May 20, 2008 4:46 PM

Not true, John Duh! The piece is still there.

Posted by Debbie | May 20, 2008 6:08 PM

Well, what was the outcome??

Posted by PAZ | May 20, 2008 11:24 PM

wondering what is the outcome?

Posted by magoo | May 21, 2008 7:55 AM

Yes, do tell. I showed this picture to my beloved and while he agreed that it's beautiful, he asked, "Where's the rest of it?" meaning that he thought it looked like the top portion of a breakfront.

I am rather surprised not to see this piece marketed as a "snug one-bedroom, with floor to ceiling windows, in exclusive Glen Ridge. Close to award-winning schools and convenient transportation to New York City. Raucous Irish tavern in the vicinity. No pets."

Cro: Best post today! :-)
