No special reason to run this photo except for that old "if eyes are made for seeing, then beauty is its own excuse for being" rationale...which I've always found perfectly fine as a rationale. This white dogwood glowed against the shimmering red maple at -- where else -- Van Vleck--where I perused the fabulous plants available for purchase (see next photo.)
And here's a familiar site to gardeners everywhere--it's ready, set, go in a week for those of us who regard Mother's Day as the official zone 6 launching pad to the planting season.
By the way, I'm a photo editor. I'm not a hard news editor. So--before someone points out that it is a slow news day I just want to point out that all of my posts are "slow news days" and always will be. I like beautiful pictures. For hard news, I turn to the Daily Show.
