Two opportunities to clean out the garage and recycle old bikes this weekend.
In Montclair, the Watchung Community Corner is collecting gently used bikes, tricycles and helmets for Family Day Nursery and "We're Going Places," a Newark afterschool program. The Montclair Bikery will tune up all donated bikes.
Drop off bikes and helmets tomorrow (Friday), from 8:30am - 4pm at the Watchung School Bike Rack alcove behind the Greenhouse. Bike Drive tags will be available at the Bike Rack to tag donated bikes and helmets. Or on Saturday, from 8 a.m to 11 a.m. (during the Fun Run and Ride)
Pedals for Progress is also collecting bikes on Saturday, from 1 -4 p.m. in Bloomfield, at the Brookdale Baptist Church parking lot (next to Shoprite on Broad Street). For more information, contact Stephane, at 973-489-8476

For what it's worth, Pedals for Progress requires a $10 minimum donation with each bike.
I can't find any contact info for the Watchung Community Corner. I want to know if they're only looking for kid's bikes or would they be interested in the wife's old bike?
