Coming Soon...Bras And Panties On Rte 3

Wednesday, May 7, 2008

Have a sudden urge for a push-up bra? Victoria's Secret will soon be just a hop, skip and jump away, at the new retail complex we told you about here. From the Record...

Attorney Frank Carlet, who represents the Livingston-based Briad Group developers, confirmed that seven chain stores and a restaurant have rented spaces at the retail center: Bath & Body Works, Chico's, Coldwater Creek, Cosi, Joseph A. Banks, New York & Company, The Limited and Victoria's Secret.

Thank God!!

I hated traveling all the way to Willowbrook for my draws....

(Wait? What? Is this thing on......?)

Tyra would open a big can of whup-ass on that model for those dead, dead eyes.

They frighten me a little.

Prof: For "draws," you go to a shooting range or an art studio. For drawers, you go to Victoria's Secret or Raymour & Flanagan.

I think this billboard is just as suggestive as the one by Brookside Park plus the model looks kinda young, plus she has dead, dead eyes. Plus she looks like she eats kittens for breakfast and puppies for lunch.

I buy my "draws" at Costco. They are right near the giant TV sets.

"Victoria's Secret, their stuff's real nice,
But I can buy the same damn thing on a Wal-Mart shelf half-price."

It is hard for me to write this without using capital letters, but WHERE IS THE TRADER JOE'S we were promised? I'm sick of driving to Wayne.

Posted by lindarae07043@yahoo.com | May 7, 2008 10:54 AM

Agreed, Lindarae. I just don't get it. A Trader Joe's in B-ville would be a goldmine.

Hey Mellon:

You left out "Commando."

And "straight up the middle".

Posted by LiFer | May 7, 2008 11:10 AM

(MM, thanks but I should have used quotation marks so the reader would have said the word as I intended. The correct pronunciation is "draws," whereas the spelling is usually "drawers," however there is a dispute over whether you can use the "draws" spelling rather than "drawers" when referring to underwear. Either way, I should have used quotation marks to made this more clear.)

Though we NEED a TJ's, I am lo-ving the lineup at this stripmall. I shop in every one of those stores for myself or someone in my family and will be thrilled not to have to trek to the malls.

Maybe TJ's is waiting for downtown Bloomfield? ;-)

Have you ever thought for a second about what kind of life a person must be living when one of their priorities is to constantly correct the insignificant spelling and punctuation errors of strangers on Internet bulletin boards? Undoubtedly someone with not enough meaningful stuff going on in their lives and a crushing (yet well-deserved) inferiority complex. That's a bad combination.

Have you ever thought for a second about what kind of life a person must be living when one of their priorities is to criticize the postings of others on a weblog? Neither have I. I just don't shiv a git.

But most likely, it's probably a Mets fan.

Have you ever thought for a second about what kind of life a person must be living when they insist on beginning a sentence with a hackneyed phrase as "Have you ever thought for a second about what kind of life a person must be living when?"

Posted by profwilliams | May 7, 2008 1:32 PM

People take themsleves too damn seriously on here. Cancer, heart disease, debilitating accidents, war, Hillary Clinton as our next President--THOSE things are serious, not the words of some poster on a blog.

And Prof, I didn't mean any disrespect to you. Just made an observation, that's all.

On to more pressing matters. Will someone please donate to me several million dollars, so that I may retire, go outside, and enjoy some of this weather?

Plus she looks like she eats kittens for breakfast and puppies for lunch.

That made me shoot water out my nose. A little. Ow.

This photo reminds me of the Hedy Lamarr quote: "Any girl can be glamorous. All she has to do is stand still and look stupid."

It's not sour grapes--really, it's not. Generally, I think models in underwear are nice. I just don't understand why that dead, blank, dumb, pissed-off look has become synonymous with 'sexy' in the mass media's eyeball.

Posted by Kate | May 7, 2008 7:06 PM

Oh that poor model looks like she has a bad case of scoliosis and some drawn-on boob cleavage -- poor thing.

Maybe one of Montclair's 57 nurses on the payroll can help her out...

Posted by ackme | May 7, 2008 7:08 PM

So, Kate, what you're saying is (and I'm just playing devil's advocate here), if someone asked you make a "seductive" or "sexy" face, you'd give them a big, toothy grin? Methinks not.

I do agree, however, the girl looks in desperate need of a back brace.

Posted by banana split | May 8, 2008 1:55 PM

BS, I happen to think a smile can be incredibly sexy...

but my point was, simply, why does 'sexy' need to equal vaguely pissed/dumb/blank?

Sexy, to me, is a look that says You need to get over here RIGHT NOW. Not God, I wish this shoot would end so I can go eat my sandwich.
