PLACE RUNNER'S NAME

CITY/TOWN AGE SX
Plainsboro,NJ 27 M
TEAM (#) TIME PACE
U 591 26:55 5:23
Nice! Wish I'd known about that! I've never done a race before. I'd love to do a run up to five miles where I don't have to be embarrassed about rocking my 13-minute per mile plod. Anyone have any suggestions?
Congratulations, Miss Martta!
Captain V: Check out the race calendar at compuscore.com.
Unfortunately, you've just missed a nice series of local races over the past few weeks, but you could aim for the Teterboro 5K (a hilarious race ON THE RUNWAY, following an official pace plane) on 7/21.
And one of the classic local races is the Ashenfelter 8K on Thanksgiving morning in Glen Ridge. A festive, fun run - with people of all shapes and paces participating. Don't worry about your pace. All of the events listed on Compuscore are friendly affairs, open to all comers. It's all about finishing and chasing your own personal records.
And congrats Ms. M!
LOL, thanks! I managed to snag 3rd place in my age group but I really slogged through this one. VERY humid. Fun, though!
Re: Kolata. A Gina Kolata of Princeton took 1st in her AG...is this the same Gina Kolata who writes for the NY Time Science Section? I think so.
I notice the fellow is pictured in a "in a clean, non-Holga'd photo..."
What an OUTRAGE! Why didn't you Holga the photo? Doesn't everybody Holga their photos? Jeesh, what the heck is wrong with keeping a photo dirty -- like it was meant to be -- then Holga-ing it, like any right-minded person would??!!
Comgrats Miss M..so, will we still be able to call you MM?
Sidebar, go to LetsChatNJ.com, click on Inside Montclair with Wayne Robbins ( on right ) and you'll find a segment I did with the World famous runner Bart Yasso talking about his new book..I think you'll enjoy it.
No, after Sunday, I should be referred to as Mrs. M. :-)
Bart Yasso is amazing! He came to speak at our running club last month. If you ever get a chance to hear him speak or read one of this books, do it!
BTW, What does Holga mean?
Holgas are these old russian cameras. when you use them, they give you dark corners, or what is referred to as vignetting.
MM - I did my interview with Bart last month, at the Church Street Kitchen,, he was having a book signing..is that where you saw him too?....the video clip was from that day.
And yeah, what the H does Holga mean?
Yes, that's where our club meets.--M
Dear Miss M., a hearty congratulations. I hope you have a wonderful day--I'll be sending good thoughts your way! Whoever he is, he's a lucky guy (unless he's a Democrat...)
LOL! No he's even more conservative than me. :-) Good guy, one in a million.
Thanks, Walleroo.
Does anyone know whatever happened to Tom Fleming? I think he might have started the annual Sunset Classic, and was a least the areas most famous marathon runner a bunch of years ago. I knew him when he had the "Running Room" on Blfd. Ave. He was a very nice guy.
Last time I heard, Tom Fleming was a running coach at Bloomfield High.
