I like to start the weekend on Thursday's...there's better parking, better service at restaurants, and I can usually saunter in without a reservation. If you don't have plans for tomorrow evening, you can make party history by being among the first to preview Montclair's newest space, Halcyon - Baristaville's new seafood brasserie - scheduled to open next to Egan’s (112- 114 Walnut Street) next month.
The MEDC is holding its Wine Spectacular in the bright contemporary-looking space that features a wooden horseshoe-shaped bar. You'll be sampling 40 -plus wines from around the world, cognac, champagne, ports, whiskey, and rum paired with a variety of passed seafood, gourmet appetizers, cheese pairings, and deserts with Baristaville friends. Live music, pay at the door, $95 per person. For more information, click here.
Got a sweet tooth? Montclair Arts Council wants you at their champagne and chocolate bash on Saturday night. WPLJ's DJ Patty Steele, posing as an auctioneer, will be handing over cool gifts and indulgences to the highest bidder...
