HEAT ADVISORY ANNOUNCEMENT: There will be an abbreviated day at all schools tomorrow, Tuesday, June 10.
In Little Falls, kids will get out early tomorrow; schools are operating on a single session day.

Just heard there are petitions circulating at MHS to close school tomorrow..
what is an abbreviated day? could they be less helpful?
I believe it's the dismissal time each school has on abbreviated days (like when they have teacher conferences and the kids get out early).
I picked up my son at the high school (he's a junior) at 11:30 am. He said he was feeling dizzy and sick to his stomach. He's only missed 2 days the entire year. I went in to sign him out -- it's a furnace in there (except for the front office which is air conditioned). I'm keeping my son home tomorrow -- this heat is dangerous.
I just got my reverse 911 call - Bloomfield also calls 1/2 day tomorrow.
BHS has exam reviews tomorrow and Friday, with exams Wednesday & Thursday, Monday & Tuesday. I can't begin to imagine how hot the interior classrooms are (these have no windows), even with air conditioning.
Yes,in Little Falls the kids were dismissed from the inferno-like school at 1 pm, but the teachers had to stay. We were told to go into any one of the 2 air conditioned rooms
until 3pm. I believe we were made to stay because we emailed the superintendent over the weekend and complained about the heat.
