Calling All Kootz Fans

Thursday, June 26, 2008

Tonight, The Kootz plays at Memorial Park in Little Falls, the first performers in the town's new summer concert series.

On July 4th in Montclair, catch The Kootz again at the July 4th Fireworks Spectacular. For info on all the July 4th festivities in Montclair, click here.

Don't mean to sound like a meanie but seriously folks...if you've ever heard the Kootz you'd know they don't have fans. Is there a group out there with worse vocals...i can't imagine.

maybe people could have a good time anyway.

They'll probably still have a good time, fran, because one thing the Kootz do is play easily recognizable songs. Which is the art of a cover band on the none-too-artistically-demanding summer outdoor circuit, no?

Iceman, I might still agree with you about the Kootz's vocal abilities, but you did miss the point: it's summer and the Kootz are accessible in the extreme. (Still too, they sing a lot better than Jay Black, whom I saw in Brookdale a few summers ago. He was truly awful.)

I attended the Little Falls show & must respectfully disagree. The lead guitarist did a great version of Springsteen's "Growin up" & the drummer's lead vocal on "People Get Ready" was quite moving. All & all a good show from a good band.

Actually, if The Kootz have some of the best vocalists in regional rock bands as most of us working musicians know. Chris is also in Carnaby Street, was in Beatlemania, and as usual Cathar and Iceman seem to have hearing as solid as there political views! Have a great 4th inside you two!

I was at the Little Falls concert last Thursday and this band is great! I signed up for their newsletter. They play everywhere. The vocals are excellent. I am now a fan...

Padre, you obviously continue to bleed. That you claim to be a "working musician" only depletes your hemoglobin, so watch it there.

"Regional rock bands?"
