1:14pm Tipster Update: Power restored on Adams Place in Glen Ridge. Whoo hoo!!!!
Sad but true, there's not a mention on PSE&G's website, but the Barista says PSE&G reps were going door to door on Hamilton Road in Glen Ridge to check power status...
Some 90,500 Public Service Electric & Gas customers were still without electricity at 11 a.m. and many may remain powerless until Friday after storms tore through the state last night."We're looking at one or two days due to extensive damage to our equipment" to restore all power, said Patty Johnson, a spokeswoman for the utility. It was unclear how many homes and businesses would have power restored by the end of the day, she said.
A Bloomfield tipster adds:
I called PSE&G and my location near the Oakview school in Bloomfield may not have power until Friday. Even before the storm hit, we received a voicemail blast around 8PM from the town warning that there would be rolling blackouts lasting about an hour at a time throughout the night due to a major electrical problem PSE&G was working on. This past Saturday, the very first hot day of the year, we experienced on and off blackouts from around 3PM until early Sunday morning.

The PSE&G homepage has all the information you need... NOT. There's nothing -- I repeat -- NOTHING about the outages on their front page. What are they thinking?? 100,000 customers mean nothing to them?
