We had some "mystery buds" in our garden. This morning, I discovered that they are red poppies!

It is so fun to discover what is in your garden during the first year of ownership. MM. Actually, I had an iris pop up out of nowhere this summer after 3 summers of owning this home, so stay tuned!

Again, congrats on the nuptials!

Going outy with friends instead of working on Summer II research class syllabus.

Had a wonderful 15 minute sharing session with a rather large, adorable groundhog!

Too bad the weather is not at all compliant with patriotic frenzy.

I heard that the Bloomfield Fireworks were canceled last night. Does anyone know when they will be rescheduled?

Only $35 for gas? Must've only been half a tank!

DH and I did a race on July 4th in Cranford and some guy won a $25 gift card from Hess. Everyone agreed he had the best prize of all.

What happened to The Amazing Hot Dog in Verona?

Posted by gail | July 5, 2008 7:03 PM

I guess since it was over priced, nothing special and poorly serviced it meet it's end.

Posted by Pokey | July 5, 2008 9:08 PM

That's met it's end.

I just noticed today that it is no longer in business. It was a bit pricey, but I thought the hot dogs were good. Weren't they trying to franchise the business? Maybe they were sucessful and no longer needed to run the store front.

I'm going to miss those bacon wrapped, deep fried beauties.

Posted by jimmyp | July 5, 2008 9:32 PM

Amazing Hot Dog were certainly the best dogs and fries in the state, hands down. Matty still has his store in Bound Brook, and they are doing the franchise as S2007 mentioned. They were cool guys there as well..great store.

The only thing amazing about that place is the raves. Mediocre at best.

Posted by Pokey | July 5, 2008 10:48 PM

Actually, Hiram's in Fort Lee has Amazing's beat hands down, for deep fried dogs and fries, but Verona was sooo convenient.

What happened to Bobbi Brown's Studio Loft Store? Went by twice and the windows were blackened. Had to buy Maybelline Mascara at CVS---savings?= 3 gallons of gas! Hmmm...

Pay for parking and beach access and have to wear a prisoner wrist band? Crazy!

ACK ME!

Amazing Hot Dog was "best?" No, not in a state which boasts Rutt's Hut and even many lesser hot dog temples. Not remotely. Amazing was, however, much ans relentlessly overhyped in this space, back in the days when it was an advertiser.
