Five Montclair arts organizations, singled out for artistic excellence and their creative contribution to our community, are among 92 New Jersey organizations who will be awarded grant monies from the Geraldine Dodge Foundation. Congrats to the local winners: George Segal Gallery at MSU, Freespace Dance, Luna Stage, Montclair Art Museum and Peak Performances. 12 Miles West Theater, formerly of Bloomfield, is also a grant recipient.
For Sunday's music scene, Montclair Center presents a "Double Header" outdoor concert at The Montclair Center Stage (weather permitting). Carrie Jackson, a native Newark jazz vocalist will be performing at 2pm, followed by the Latin Jazz sounds of the Joe Taino Group at 4pm. All concerts are free. The Montclair Center Stage is located at the intersection of Bloomfield Avenue, North Fullerton Avenue and Church Street. For more artistic and musical events around Baristaville this weekend, check out our Calendar and Montclair Arts Council.

Arts funding for Montclair has been slashed so much over the last few years...I don't think a post celebrating that you "did" get some money is really newsworthy, unless the amounts are "way above" what you usually receive.
Any new or special programs to go along with those grants?
lol....thought so
