The Glen Ridge Library, at 240 Ridgewood Ave., opened yesterday for the first time since its $1.2 million renovation began right after Thanksgiving. After camping in the basement of the Women's Club for eight months, the new building looks sumptuous indeed, and yesterday library staff couldn't stop kvelling about the new front doors, which open with just the touch of a finger.
The upstairs is still off-limits while the librarians unpack (non-fiction first), but the children's area is open for business and was filled yesterday with kids signing up for the summer reading program. Today, librarians planned to put out new acquisitions for adults to peruse.

It's a good little library, with a great children's section. Glad it's back.
