Power has been on and off by Watchung Plaza and around Upper Montclair. It just came back on again, we hear from our sources eating pizza at Mr. Dino's. We'll update when we know more.

Oh Liz, to think you were without your central a/c for forty five minutes! Had I been there I would've puffed up my cheeks and blown on you. In a spirit of Victorian gentility, of course.
Is this possibly related to the strong smell of fire smoke in the air right now??
A transformer caught fire right around the corner of Elston and Norwood.
What is up with the electrical system around here? This is a very brittle system.
the way i understand it, lasermike, is someone presses lever which makes a ladder spill a paint can which hits a lever sending a bowling ball along a winding track. out pops a man who's scrubbing his back in a bath tub and, if it's all timed right, he hits his head on the green side of an on/off switch.percentages these days, depending on what side of the street you are isn't so hot.
Kudos to the folks at PSE&G for getting the burnt up transformer outage fixed within 30 minutes yesterday!
I love Montclair but when it comes to blackouts and power outages it's more like a Third World country. For instance, Wednesday afternoon (7.3) around 4:30pm on a sunny, 78 degree day the power went out for a couple of hours (again). Since living here for over 16 years, my street in Upper Montclair has had no less than 25 - 30 outages, with out exageration, during that time. What gives?
I Driving down Bloomfield Avenue from West Caldwell to Montclair at around 4:15pm, the traffic lights were out on several blocks in Caldwell. I didn't know until just now that there had been failures in Montclair. Strange grid!
