Seems like there are a lot of nocturnal intruders around the area.

Lately it seems like every time I read baristanet I end up not sleeping for two days because of some new crime story. Is this to drive readership a la Rupert Murdoch or is it really getting more dangerous around here?

Well like they say, its the economy, even the thugs and creeps and total losers have to pay higher prices for things just like the rest of us. Unfortunately they commit crimes, while, take me for example, I work free-lance after work to pick up a few extra $. Maybe I should stroll the streets looking for unlocked doors. Have a great night.

As I read this, I remember a news story from a few days ago, something like this...

"man in critical condition after attempting a break in, the homeowner, an elderly man, shot him in the head."

A feel-good story if I ever heard one.

From the post today:

Two burglars were busted sleeping- one in a stolen hammock, the other in a pile of pilfered pillows- after swiping patio furniture from a Monroe, Wash., department store, police said.
A Cop found the snoozing pair after following a trail of pillows about 200 feet from the store.

"We Believe alcohol was involved," said a Monroe police spokeswoman. "I'd say a lot of alcohol was involved."
