What's it like to live in Montclair? Have you ever tried to describe to someone just what makes this part of Baristaville unique? Our own Katie Mancine, who's making her way to Wisconsin right now, created this slice of life video of Montclair for us.
Montclair! from Baristanet on Vimeo.

When did Baristanet become Stop Katie Central? Sure, her trip looks awesome and her web sites rock, but the multiple posts about one person (who doesn't even live in Montclair anymore) is a bit much.
"unemployed in montclair"
I'll film the Baristanet party...I'll have to edit out the violence.
The video isn't about me dude! It's about a day in Montclair.
Katie,
I've been enjoying your Wanderful postings. I love Chicago and you've whetted my appetite to plan a trip to Wisconsin.
Reading for meaning
In keeping with Baristanet = Stopkatie, I'll talk about our trip for a moment: I thought 3.5 months would be long enough to get everything in but I realize it takes at least a week or two to fully enjoy any given state. Not sure what I should do about that except plan to either go until March or go again next year. We'll see. Thanks for reading Nellie. And Wisconsin is pretty awesome, which is why we're spending another few days here.
What's the name of the basement dance club in the video Katie?
The Meat Locker. Oh right, I also have to tell you guys it's not a dance club, it's just a place where bands perform in front of a live audience, the manager of the meat locker records it, and puts it on DVD so they can have a copy to send out. And he wanted me to make sure everyone knew it is not a club or concert hall or anything (for legal reasons)
Hey Katie, no offense intended. I think your trip is excellent. I was questioning Baristanet's editorial approach of focusing too much on one thing, and used you as an example. Keep up the great work -- I'm envious.
About 15 years ago, I had a big party at The Meat Locker. It was a Scorpio Party, hosted by people with Scorpio birthdays. It was awesome. We hired Billy Hector and the Fairlanes, bought a keg, and had about 100 or so people wandering in and out. Everyone had a wild time--until the cops came at 11 PM. Seems some cranky guy who owned an Indian restaurant upstairs complained that his tables were bouncing around from all the noise. But the party was talked about for years and years after.
Wisconsin is amazing! Enjoy your time in "God's Country"!
I can't believe this video did not have an NC-17 rating what with that doggie porn in it!
The Meat Locker looks almost as skeevy as the old Dirt Club in Bloomfield.
Katie,
Don't forget Appleton and Door County!! Enjoy.
One word, Katie: Monopod.
Great video, Katie.
I thoroughly enjoy reading up on the wanderful adventures of you, Mark and lil' Mister.
Uh, Doyou..., that was the whole point.
