Calling all Giants fans: Former star player Mark Bavaro, considered one of the toughest and best tight ends in NFL history, will be at the Yogi Berra Museum & Learning Center on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 6-8 pm, to sign copies of his novel “Rough and Tumble.”
Museum director Dave Kaplan is offering to set up a private meet & greet with Bavaro for two Baristanet readers. Be the first two people to send us an email at tips@baristanet.com saying "Take me to Bavaro" and you and a friend will be Kaplan's guest at the event.
UPDATE: We have two winners.
Bavaro played most of his nine-year NFL career with the Giants (1985-90) - you'll remember he was a pivotal contributor during the team’s Super Bowl XXI and XXV championships. An All-American at Notre Dame, he later earned the nickname “Rambo” due to his intense playing style, quiet personality and physical resemblance to Sylvester Stallone.
Books are available for purchase at the Museum, located on the campus of Montclair State University. Proceeds from event will benefit the Museum’s education programs. For more info: (973) 655-2378.
