NJ Transit wouldn't discuss it, but word on the street is there's finally a buyer for the old Benson Street Station retired from use in September 2002. We hear the decrepit old building in Glen Ridge brought in an offer of $100,000. NJT did tell us their lips were sealed about the sale because it was "under negotiation." At this point, we can only guess who the buyer may be or what will become of the station.

Walleroo, you old scallywag! You're finally moving out from under Liz's porch, Congrats!
I heard thru the grapevine it is going to be A GENTLEMAN'S CLUB.
I understand the buyer has a lot of experience in restoration - sounds good to me.
Might make a nice restaurant or cafe.
It was a cozy little station back in the day. There was a pot bellied stove, radiating welcome warmth in the winter, a large coffee urn and some Stella Dora breakfast cookies for 50 cents a pop and most welcome of all a small bathroom for those last minute pit stops that can spell a less 'squirmy' commute for us '3 cups of coffee then out the door' commuters.
ooh, I hope it becomes a nail salon. We need more of them!
A bike rental shop & cafe for the new rails to trails path.
I was going to announce it next week, but Mrs. M has spilled the beans. Party will be Saturday 8 pm, byob. Bring a housewarming gift!
A O sounds good to you. Is it P A?
