How many times have you thought, "I wish I had my own band" or "I'd love to start a record company." Glen Ridger Eric Mangol has created a website guaranteed to hook you with your first visit. It is called Figment and it lets you create an imaginary band, an imaginary cd or record album cover, and imaginary liner notes. I created a band called Fresh Meat Necklace People and the image shown here is the imaginary cd cover for the group. I even created two new genres for their music: wimpadelic and dorkadelic. As the press release explains,

The guy who created this site is a good friend of mine, and he really put a lot of TLC into this thing. I've made up some bands and had a lot of fun doing it. Just about everyone's got a funny band name kicking around somewhere in their head, and it's a blast to play it out with fake albums, covers, bios, as far as your imagination wants to take it. Support you local fake-band-website-creator!

Vanilla Jesus. Was in a cab once in Boston with some musicians and the driver had a horrible vanilla scented thing right next to his plastic Jesus. We thought that would be a cool band name. Metal, obviously.
