Kiln Some Time at Doin’ Dishes

I am pretty sure it has been around for at least 11 years. A decade ago, my daughter had her tenth birthday party there. Doin’ Dishes on Church Street in Montclair is a business that has survived the ups and downs of the economy–perhaps because it is just so much fun to be there.

On Superbowl Sunday, your Baristanet Bloggers decided to spend the afternoon Doin’ Dishes. Call it a team building exercise, or just a chance to enjoy savory snacks and a bottle of wine while wielding our paint brushes with creative joy. Here is a portfolio of a great afternoon and the colorful ceramics that resulted.

Doin’ Dishes is at 50 Church St in Montclair. It costs $7 an hour for painting time, plus the cost of your bisque. Bring your own snacks and wine. Tuesday night is Ladies Night, $7 stay as a long as you want. Weekends are hopping so call ahead to let them know when you plan to come. 973.744.8589

LOL. I know. But we went running at a group run (and ran 10 miles yesterday) so this counts as a stay-at-home-and-watch-videos day.

…And it would probably be even better if it wasn’t painted one handed while the other hand held a blackberry all day.

Actually — we were looking up where the accents on the Greek words should be on Google.

Had the best time on Ladies Nite at Doin’ Dishes! I painted a mug for my mother which is microwave and dishwasher safe!

I would love to see Santorum get the nod. Maybe then the politically comatose members of society will wake up.
