Deadly Fire In Bloomfield Near Demarest School

Firefighters with shovels are digging out ashes following a house fire that claimed a life on Bessida Street in Bloomfield. The early morning fire, which could be seen from the GSP, was put by firemen from Bloomfield, Belleville and East Orange. The victim was a woman in her 50s.

    That explains all the sirens I was hearing this morning as I was suffering from insomnia. That place looks like it went up like a tinderbox. A tragedy indeed.

    Very sad….The poor woman undoubtedly went to bed last nigth thinking she was going to have a normal day today.
