In fact, Montclair enjoyed the sun shining down and a light fresh breeze. This year's Fourth of July parade was surely one of the best ever. And we have the slide show to prove it...keep reading!
There were so many fantastic frames and participants in the parade that we couldn't fit them all in -- nonetheless, this will give you an idea of all the wonderful men, women and children who took the time to be part of this great American tradition. We at Baristanet and Baristakids wish you a happy, healthy and safe Independence Day weekend.

Another great job, Fran!
I do of course take some satisfaction from the acknowledgement, however oblique, of my first noting the frequency of "slow news days" here via the Baristanet float.
But I was, also, dead serious, whereas the Baristas seem to be kidding with their float.
Not one photo or mention of the First Prize-winning Pirate Ship Float from the Commonwealth Club?
Oh, Please send a photo and i will add it to the slide show! I was at the parade with my cairn terrier - we were there for a while before the parade started, and at one point i saw that he was getting frightened by the activity around him, so I took pictures for as long as i could before i felt he needed to go home for a drink of water and some solitude. I'm so sorry that i wasn't able to remain to the end, but i bet the pirate ship was fantastic. would you post some pix of it on the baristanet flickr site?
Didn't anyone else notice the Michael Jackson "Black or White" song blasting out of a float, closely followed by a giant white coffin?
Pretty sick huh? I couldn't believe it, so recorded it and will put it up on You Tube later...
Thanks for the pix, fran.
Anyone know who the mime artist in the red shirt was? I'm trying to find her.
